[21:03:39] <mutante> hey, i'm a sysadmin/devops, not really dba. the task is to upgrade a Debian jessie server to a Debian buster (stable). that means mongodb Debian package with 2.4.10 to "no more Debian package but maybe 3rd party repo with 3.x" afaict. I see that the upgrade path would be in multiple steps.. like sounds mandatory from 2.4 to 2.6 first and then a couple steps after that to get to current. but i don't
[21:03:45] <mutante> really need live data migration or anything, i would be fine with "just" dumping data and then import a dump on a new server. especially if that means i don't have to do all the upgrade steps. is that reasonable? any hints how to go about it? also.. what repo to use maybe for Debian stable?
