[00:01:27] <wickman> re: 1732, pex uses ~/.pex as its default PEX_ROOT, and has caches in /build, /install, /http, etc. this has worked pretty well for us, so i imagine just reuising ~/.pip (perhaps allowing override with PIP_ROOT) and having specific subdirs in there for different things would be fairly manageable
