[15:28:11] <pmxbot> Remove docs on 'using', which only describe the no longer necessary bootstrapping technique. Ref #336.
[15:28:11] <pmxbot> Deprecated use_setuptools. Fixes #336.
[17:47:11] <straycat> Hi, I've been working on a change that allows pip to list dependencies it finds into a file and was hoping to get the change into pip, but the change feels a little hacky to me so would it be better to link to the patch here to get some advice on how I can improve it or should I just send a pull request for it?
[17:48:51] <dstufft> if you want feedback a PR is probably the best bet
[17:51:00] <straycat> okay I'll do that then, thanks :)
[18:39:42] <straycat> my laptop just overheated running the tests >.>
[18:41:00] <straycat> mainly due to a bug in a driver which causes the fan speed to be set incorrectly though <.<
[19:06:23] <sigmavirus24> straycat: easier to blame pip's tests
[19:06:41] <sigmavirus24> straycat: I know how you can fix pip's tests to not overheat your laptop though
[19:06:57] <straycat> oh?
[19:07:00] <sigmavirus24> Actually I know 2 ways
[19:07:04] <sigmavirus24> Way 1. Don't run them
[19:07:08] <sigmavirus24> Way 2. rm -rf tests
[19:07:15] <sigmavirus24> =P
[19:07:15] <straycat> ha, i see :p
[19:07:49] <dstufft> pio's tests are terrible
[19:07:57] <sigmavirus24> But not pip's
[19:08:02] <dstufft> they can completely lock up my system if I run them the same way we run them on travis
[19:08:03] <sigmavirus24> Pip's tests are the bestests
