(Back to #pypa-dev overview) (Back to channel listing) (Animate logs)
[11:25:24] <pradyunsg> pf_moore: Hi!
[11:26:48] <pradyunsg> pf_moore: Wanted to give a heads up -- I'm gonna go clicky clicky on the merge buttons on the 3 PRs (4925, 4978, 5000) w/o reviews.
[11:29:04] <pf_moore> pradyunsg: Go for it. We all know who to blame now ;-) (Seriously, it's all internal reorg so it's covered by the whole "you shouldn't be using pip internals" thing anyway). And the tests cover us on external behaviour.
[11:29:48] <pradyunsg> pf_moore: Hahah. Cool. XD
[11:30:31] <pradyunsg> pf_moore: If you could take 5000 for a spin, that'd be nice.
[11:36:08] <sumanah> congrats pradyunsg
[11:36:57] <pradyunsg> sumanah: thanks, for what tho?
[11:37:17] <sumanah> pradyunsg: merging big Resolver things!
[11:39:18] <pradyunsg> Hehe. There's a lot more to do still.
[11:43:55] <sumanah> "inch pebbles" come before milestones :)
[12:11:19] <nedbat> sumanah: thanks for raising the classy-level of Python-List....
[12:12:37] <sumanah> nedbat: I'm glad of your assessment. Thank you.
[12:13:53] <sumanah> nedbat: Literally on Monday I was telling a friend that I'd had a wonderful time working with the community on PyPI and hadn't had any bad experiences with it yet.
[12:14:14] <sumanah> I foolishly didn't use the word "yet" in that conversation.
[12:15:18] <nedbat> sumanah: you'd think experienced software devs would know better than to just fling whiny rants and other devs
[12:15:43] <sumanah> nedbat: That would be nice.
[12:16:00] <sumanah> nedbat: so are you one of the posters on that list/newsgrooup?
[12:18:04] <nedbat> sumanah: I lurk, and occasionally help, and occasionally chide :)
[12:19:04] <sumanah> nedbat: :) if you feel like deploying your authority to chide in this case, go ahead.
[14:19:33] <sumanah> di_codes: EWDurbin: looks like Honza Kral is happy to help with ElasticSearch stuff, see #727. You have an opinion on what the highest value issue is to point him to right now?
[14:22:35] <EWDurbin> sumanah: probably incremental indexing
[14:32:41] <sumanah> EWDurbin: thanks. asked.
[15:00:15] <sumanah> hi waseem18
[15:56:53] <thea> sumanah: I'll second dstufft and say that your response in python-list was fantastic on every level.
[15:57:18] <sumanah> thank you thea! And I am not done yet
[15:57:21] <thea> Er nedbat.
[15:57:32] <thea> Ofc not
[15:57:55] <thea> People are going to be complaining about it until we launch the next redesign. ;)
[16:09:04] <dstufft> If I remember correctly, one of the first things I warned nicole about was that as soon as people see a new design, no matter _what_ the new design does, they will find a reason to whine about it
[17:24:07] <sumanah> Congrats to njs & EWDurbin for being elected PSF fellows! :D https://www.python.org/psf/fellows/
[17:24:21] <sumanah> (I think those are the only newly elected fellows in the channel, I could be wrong)
[17:26:52] <EWDurbin> :-D
