(Back to #pypa-dev overview) (Back to channel listing) (Animate logs)
[14:57:30] <pradyunsg> EWDurbin: ping! Any update on the 2FA situation for the bots?
[14:57:48] <EWDurbin> no, didn't hear back from dstufft the other day
[14:58:02] <pradyunsg> dstufft: ping!
[14:58:02] <EWDurbin> dstufft: are you available to help us get access? GH won't let us in without some additional confirmation
[14:59:43] <EWDurbin> pradyunsg: i still maintain that converting these two bots to GH apps instead of users would be better in the long run. that'd allow PyPA org to own them and alleviate all of these access headaches
[15:09:58] <pradyunsg> EWDurbin: I’m in agreement — I’ve started experimenting with octomachinery and gidgethub locally to figure out what’s needed for that.
[15:11:46] <pradyunsg> EWDurbin: Even in the case that we completely ditch the current implementation, it'd still be nice to gain access to these bot accounts, to update the descriptions to point to the newer deployment + update/revoke the current API tokens.
[15:12:18] <EWDurbin> right, i'm not saying we shouldn't get access taken care of :)
[15:12:20] <EWDurbin> just reminding
[15:12:28] <dstufft> EWDurbin: yea, about to leave for dr's, can after
[15:12:45] <EWDurbin> dstufft: ok, just ping me when you're available
[15:38:01] <sumanah> pradyunsg: have you gotten the BrownTruck and so on credentials you need?
[15:38:33] <sumanah> looking at scrollback now. I see. You will
[15:53:35] <sumanah> Hi sangy
[15:53:44] <sumanah> https://github.com/pypa/browntruck
[15:54:39] <sangy> oh nice! Is there a history for that handle?
[17:37:41] <dstufft> EWDurbin: hi
[17:38:04] <EWDurbin> welcome back dstufft!
[17:38:23] <EWDurbin> dstufft long story short, the creds for those bots made it
[17:38:31] <EWDurbin> but trying to log in, GH asks for confirmation via an email
[17:38:51] <dstufft> sangy: the history is my daughter didn't know what the words UPS were when she was young, but always got excited by the UPS driver delivering packages, but she just called it the "brown truck", and it's stuck as the terminology for UPS in my household :P

[17:39:52] <EWDurbin> cool, i'll do another for the other bot now
[17:39:57] <EWDurbin> 😹
[17:40:08] <dstufft> feel free to change the emails on those
[17:40:13] <dstufft> idc
[17:40:15] <EWDurbin> 👍
[17:40:42] <sangy> dstufft: haha awesome. I love it
[17:45:01] <EWDurbin> pradyunsg: you around?
[17:45:07] <pradyunsg> EWDurbin: yup.
[17:45:20] <EWDurbin> cool! i'll DM you in a moment and we'll get you into these accounts
[17:45:21] <EWDurbin> :)
[17:45:55] <pradyunsg> YAY!
[17:57:30] <pradyunsg> dstufft: EWDurbin: sumanah: thanks for making this happen. :)
[18:07:12] <EWDurbin> okay, pradyunsg dstufft and myself should now all have access to both bot accounts (with 2fa!)
[18:07:32] <pradyunsg> \o/
[18:16:11] <techalchemy> pradyunsg, wanna catch up a bit next week
[18:16:49] <pradyunsg> techalchemy: is that a question? Or are you stating a wish? o.O
[18:17:01] <techalchemy> both :p but it was a question
[18:17:05] <techalchemy> sorry doing like 5 things
[18:22:33] <pradyunsg> techalchemy: sure. :)
[18:33:03] <pradyunsg> EWDurbin: is serving the files easier or serving "Moved Permanently" 301s?
[18:33:49] <pradyunsg> EWDurbin: for the "root" of the domain + existing URLs.
[21:51:55] <EWDurbin> pradyunsg: we probably want to serve the files, i don't think curl follows redirects by default.
