[10:33:26] <kritika12298> Hello, I am Kritika Gupta, looking forward to contribute for the project Improve pip's test helpers.
[10:37:42] <pradyunsg> Hi kritika12298! o/
[10:37:49] <pradyunsg> Oh come on.
[10:38:08] <pradyunsg> How do I miss every GSoC related student intro? :o

[22:02:15] <sumanah> techalchemy: so what are you working on?
[22:03:16] <techalchemy> sumanah, a bug in one of my pre-commit hooks which has been preventing my commit attempts but I have finally disentangled
[22:03:24] <sumanah> Yay!
[22:03:48] <techalchemy> by 'disentangled' i mean figured out the thing that causes the bug and added it to my exclusions list
[22:03:53] <techalchemy> no idea why it happens
[22:04:10] <techalchemy> however i don't plan to work much this weekend, i need a break
[22:08:13] <sumanah> techalchemy: got it
[22:08:47] <sumanah> techalchemy: when would you like for me to check back in with you?
[22:09:43] <techalchemy> sumanah, feel free anytime i'll probably try to keep chipping away at this, at least it will force me to provide an answer. I don't expect to really sit down and focus on it again until monday
[22:10:06] <techalchemy> thanks for your continued help
[22:10:14] <sumanah> techalchemy: ok. So, if you have a few minutes now to look at a project planning thing, I would like that
[22:10:21] <sumanah> not specific code questions
[22:10:49] <techalchemy> i actually need to check on my fireplace as it smells like propane quite strongly
[22:10:57] <sumanah> oh gosh, go do that
[22:11:08] <techalchemy> thanks :p

[22:24:14] <sumanah> ok techalchemy for when you return to IRC: part of managing this release, and people's expectations, is mentioning somewhere public-ish (like pypa-dev/distutils-sig/discuss.python.org) what your plans are. I wrote up https://pad.sfconservancy.org/p/help-pipenv-release-2020-03-07 which you can edit
[22:37:58] <sumanah> you could just send it to one of those places.... I do think you should send something like this soon, to help others help you, and to help recruit other people to do what I've been doing :-)
