[06:38:06] <pradyunsg> For context, @di and I recently pair-programmed/pair-reviewed work toward adding metadata validation logic to `packaging` -- the concern I had raised toward the end of our discussion was, whether we were reinventing something that importlib.metadata had already created. Looks like we're not, but it'd still be "nice" to get that code into importlib.metadata.

[06:39:32] <pradyunsg> Another *very interesting* thing that @di pointed out was that the "Description" key (when it's not the body of the payload) needs to be "cleaned" of the indentation and all -- with inspect.cleandoc.
