[17:27:23] <nchepanov> Hi all, I'm hoping to receive a "good to go" on https://github.com/pypa/packaging-problems/issues/367#issuecomment-819691296 so Cooper and I can move forward. A simple 👍 would do.
[18:20:26] <cooperlees> I feel we just start the PRs - Unfortunately most projects I've attempted with pypi / warehouse have halted waiting for someone
[18:20:54] <cooperlees> BUT, I even did the work on a new API one with asmacdo and then we got blocked on 100% unit tests things before people would confirm it would be accepted if we did all that painful work ...
[18:21:02] <cooperlees> So I find it hard to donate time to warehouse :(
[18:21:07] <cooperlees> Would love to ...
[18:21:50] <cooperlees> We could of had a new API that would have broke no one and nothing years ago to build on from asmacdo and I ...
[18:22:11] <cooperlees> But it seems with PyPA Perfection on paper is better than done :(
[18:22:58] <cooperlees> done/progress
[18:36:11] <alanbato> I feel that a bit. I'm still looking for people to review or comment on Draft Releases https://github.com/pypa/warehouse/pull/8941
[18:37:04] <alanbato> That said, I believe the most valuable and limited resource in open source is the maintainer's time and attention.
[18:38:39] <alanbato> It does sometime lead to this sort of situations. Specially when dealing with non-trivial technical design work that may have effects on more things than initially thought. Hence the need for careful review and consideration
[18:44:18] <nchepanov> Given the limited resources maintainers have, it's inevitable. I do what I can: patiently and persistently.
[18:53:08] <alanbato> Yes. I'm confident than in time, there is progress
[19:02:22] <cooperlees> are with you all
[19:02:35] <cooperlees> Just, I've literally sat with the people who can make the call but they seem hesitant to
[19:03:19] <cooperlees> I understand the inverse too of all PRs add operational work scope/growth
[19:03:43] <cooperlees> And that PSF / PyPA is super limited. But I am around and would continue to help if allowed
[19:03:53] <cooperlees> I know the Open Source ghosting is real too
