[03:17:30] <sasha> Hey guys, I have a package that I can see through pip search, but when I try to install it, I get `Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement scikits.timeseries (from versions: )`
[03:18:13] <sasha> https://dpaste.de/noFi here is the output
[03:19:45] <[Tritium]> sasha: there are no distributions of the package on pypi. they listed their project but didn't upload anything
[03:20:05] <sasha> ah that's unfortunate, thanks for the advice [Tritium]
[03:20:28] <[Tritium]> from the linked page: "The scikits.timeseries module is no longer undergoing active development. There is an outstanding list of bugs that are unlikely to be fixed. The plan is for the core functionality of this module to be implemented in pandas. If you wish to see this module live on independently of pandas, feel free to fork the code and take it over."
[03:21:03] <sasha> I see. Found another module that does something similar anyways, thanks.
[09:07:14] <du5tball> hiya, i've got an issue trying to upgrade pip. the 8.1.1 version is available under http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/p/pip/pip-8.1.1.tar.gz but i can't increment the version number and get 8.1.2, although it should be up for four days now. any help?
[09:08:24] <ronny_> du5tball: that scheme has been changed
[09:08:45] <ronny_> du5tball: please use the official api, which is the links on the simple index
[17:02:45] <dstufft> Nicole is pretty much entirely in charge of the design side of things as I'm a terrible designer :) but she's typically pretty responsive on issues
[17:03:09] <dstufft> she's sometime in IRC too, in #pypa-dev as nlh
[17:07:28] <dstufft> apollo13: fwiw even 100% feature parity is not needed, we can keep old PyPI running alongside new PyPI for a bit if we need to, and some things are "non critical" as well so even if old PyPI had them, we don't need at launch (like stats or so)
