(Back to #pypa overview) (Back to channel listing) (Animate logs)
[11:58:42] <gpchelkin> Good day to everyone. I lost my authentication application and can no longer log in. Moreover, to be honest, I don't remember enabling 2FA (no signs of it in my email). How do I recover access to my account?
[12:03:35] <tos9> gpchelkin: It doesn't exist currently unfortunately.
[12:04:25] <tos9> gpchelkin: https://pypi.org/help/#twofa
[12:04:30] <tos9> gpchelkin: "Note: If you lose your authentication application and can no longer log in, the PyPI team cannot currently help you recover your account. We plan to develop a manual account recovery policy and implement account recovery codes to address this issue."
[12:05:00] <gpchelkin> tos9: So I need to create new account and new copy of my project? That's sad :( Thank you. I read the help you linked, but thought maybe people may healp with it somehow.
[12:06:23] <tos9> Not that I know of unfortunately
[12:07:00] <tos9> gpchelkin: You could potentially comment on, help with, etc. https://github.com/pypa/warehouse/issues/5758
[12:07:29] <tos9> (Or https://github.com/pypa/warehouse/issues/5808 which is the email notification piece)
[12:08:19] <gpchelkin> Thanks! I'll try. Have a good day :)

[22:53:51] <graingert> thoughts on __token__ as the pypi token 'username'?
[22:54:00] <graingert> pradyunsg: ^
[23:18:57] <tos9> what's wrong with @token
[23:19:12] <tos9> which probably isn't actually a valid one, whereas __token__ presumably is
