[16:03:23] <biryukov> pip install X logs into all (extra) index urls. even it finds package X in the very first index. is it done to make sure that we install the latest version from one of the registries?
[16:14:25] <techalchemy> biryukov, i find pip's handling of that a bit confusing myself -- i tend to think it would be nice to have pip inform you at the end of installation where each package came from (e.g. in an aggregated way) or something like that

[17:39:53] <biryukov> techalchemy, i expected pip to stop searching for X in other indexes if it's found in some index. but it doesn't work that way.
